I looked online for a good ironman training plan at a reasonable price. This book gives you a great program to work from that is simple to understand and execute. It also adds in some tips and bits along the way. If you are looking for a book on tri's this is not for you. If you are looking for an Ironman distance training plan then look no further....

Simply put this book is straightforward, easy to understand. Well presented, well written it is a joy to read. Every thing you NEED to know rather would like to know is presented clearly. No rubbish, no pandering to the panic of triathletes and the would I should I could I brigade. If you want to go long, read this book.

I am at the end of my sixth week of training with this book and I LOVE IT!!! The specific workouts are terrific, interesting and challenging. I am training for my second IM and for my first I had a coach. But I think even if funds are limited this book would definitely bring you to the finish even if it's your first IM. It feels as if the authors are your own personalized long distance coaches as they cover most questions in the book. All I can think of is that a newbie would have to be careful not to do too much given the mandatory and optional workouts. I would definitely recommend this book and I hope they come out with another one with different workouts for my third IM!!!

This book is perfect for someone training for their very first Ironman. It gives all the information you need to be successful along with training plans, and it is very easy to understand. I have found many of the other triathlon books to be way too intense with extremely lengthy and overly detailed training that make me feel as if I need a degree in coaching to understand.
