sorts of things (whether you do that online with something like Daily Mile or do it in an old fashioned notepad it matters not) about your run or your walk. There isn't enough room here and there is just something about me that doesn't like this type of structure for journaling. It's very repetitive. I think it would be a good choice for someone who hasn't done it before - but for those who have and who want a more structured journal I found the Runner's World Journal to be more motivational and easier to use. That one also comes spiral bound which is easier for me to write in.

 

The Beginning Runner's Journal is a great companion to the book. There are so many things I thought of and some I couldn't put into words while reading the book, this journal helps to put those thoughts into words. In addition, the journal walks a beginner runner through some of the ideas and thoughts of what maybe a seasoned runner once thought or currently thinks. It's very thought provoking. Why am I beginning to run? This book is written for someone who has some time to stay still and write. Something I don't always have. Overall, it's a great companion to the book and a good start to a beginner runner's journal.
