    Scott Ludwig 简介:

    Scott has run every single day since November 20, 1978 and he currently has the 35th longest streak in the U.S. He has run 200 marathons, over 800 races, and accumulated over 130,000 miles in his lifetime.
    He began running ultra-marathons early in his running career, his first belong a 50-miler in 1982. In time he would run ultras ranging from 31 miles to 135 miles. In 2002, Scott ran 129 miles in the U.S. National 24-Hour Championships and won the masters national championship. In 1992 he ran 280 miles in six days, from the west side to the east side of the state of Georgia, to raise money for charity.

    For those of you who haven’t the pleasure of meeting Scott, he’s a “local” ultra runner that has been running since 1978. That is, he has run every single day for over 30 years. That’s one long streak. He’s completed hundred of marathons and ultra’s, and has ran over 100,000 miles.

    He’s also the co-founder of the Darkside Running Club.

    A Few Degrees from Hell: White Hot Tales from the Badwater Ultramarathon features 25 runners telling of their adventures in running 135 miles non-stop from Death Valley to Mount Whitney, California.

    The book by Scott Ludwig of Peachtree City, GA, has been published by Meyer & Meyer Sportand is being distributed nationally by Cardinal Publishers Group.

    Meyer & Meyer is an international publisher based in Aachen, Germany and is the biggest sports publisher in Europe. It has over 2,000 titles in English and German, written by some of the world’s acknowledged experts in their fields, including famed running writer Jeff Galloway.

    Ludwig will have book signings on Saturday, June 29, from 3-5 p.m. at Books-A-Million in Peachtree City and on July 11 from 7-9 p.m. at Barnes and Noble at 2900 Peachtree Road in Atlanta. Ludwig will sign copies purchased at those stores.

    Ludwig, 58, is president and co-founder of the Darkside Running Club . He has one of the longest running streaks in the country, having run every day since Nov. 30, 1978. He ran his 200th marathon last December in Honolulu and his 50th ultra two years ago in South Africa (Comrades Marathon, about 54 miles across mountains).

    The Badwater book was written in 2010 and originally self-published. Meyer & Meyer bought rights to the book and has published it for the national and international market.

    The 36th annual Badwater race, recognized globally as “the world’s toughest foot race,” will be held July 15-17 and feature up to 100 of the world’s toughest athletes – runners, triathletes, adventure races, and mountaineers against one another and the elements. It is run in temperatures of up to 130 degrees and includes three mountain ranges.

    Ludwig has published five books:
    2007 – Running through My Mind: Confessions of an Every Day Runner.

    2009 -- A Passion for Running: Portraits of the Everyday Runner. The book chronicles the amazing stories of 18 runners I had grown to know, respect and admire during my first three decades in he sport.

    2010 -- A Few Degrees from Hell: The 2003 Badwater Ultramarathon.

    2012 -- In It for the Long Run: A Decade with the Darkside Running Club is a history of the club founded in 2002 by Al Barker and myself. It was co-authored with the talented Vanessa Stroud of Birmingham, AL.

    2013 – Distance Memories: Reflections of a Life on the Run. “If I had to categorize it, I would call it a memoir, as it is a compilation of the experience, wisdom and insight gained from running for almost 35 years and running more than 130,000 miles,” Ludwig said.
